Almost 2 weeks old....

I cannot believe how quickly time has flown....I say, Henry is almost two weeks old, Bill would say he is only 12 days old, and don't give him any more than that. Really now....He has grown so much and he is even cuter than he was the day we brought him home from the hospital& he only keeps getting cuter!! Henry celebrated his first Independence day with mom&dad. It was pretty mellow& low key, we walked to 3rd street for lunch, then bundled him up& walked the block to palisades park to check out the fireworks for a few minutes in the evening. Mommy was a little worried, so we did not stay long. We have his second appointment with the pediatrician on Wednesday so I am looking forward to finding out his stats at that point. He is doing well, eating when he is supposed to, however mommy has to wake him up to feed him, even in the wee hours of the morning, when he has not eaten for 4-5 hours!! Unlike mom& dad, eating does not seem to be a favorite past-time for Henry at this point.  We will see as the day progress, and he starts to grow more if he enjoys it or not.

"The Final Countdown"

WOW!! In the famous words of the band "Europe," that Samuel, Stina& Joe tried to re-create for Bill and I in Mammoth....it is the FINAL COUNTDOWN!!! Only Days until we will have our little man in our arms.

As you can see in the picture to the left, I am about to "Pop" and so ready to let him "out" and reclaim my body. It has been a blessed pregnancy with no major issues, complications or complaints, but it is strange when you can get comfortable because there is this little man inside of you, moving around& trying himself to get comfortable. Or he starts hiccuping non-stop for 15 minutes. I will almost miss having him inside me, but so excited to hold him for the 1st time!!

I cannot believe we are here already. We are so excited, almost every last onesie and crib sheet has been washed, the furniture is all in place, pictures are hung and mommy and daddy are psychologically (so we think) ready for what is to come.

We have been so blessed with amazing friends who have given us so much, including the most recent,  very lovely "surprise shower" at work ( & as seen in this latest picture) an amazingly beautiful diaper cake made by Lara, one of my co-workers at the Westside Pregnancy Clinic, where I have been counseling these past few months. As I launched a program there in March.

I am so excited to use all the sweet gifts everyone gave us, so excited to swaddle him in his blankets and dress him in all the adorable clothes and use his cute bath towels.  Words cannot express how thankful we are for everyone's love, excitement, prayers and encouragement throughout this amazing time in our lives.

We look forward to do the next postings which will most likely be pictures of the labor, delivery, and Baby Sibert's sweet face!!

A great night it was

So some of our friends through a couples shower for us on Saturday night. We had a great time with this group and we appreciate all of you making your way over for the party.
We can't begin to thank Katy for all that she did to pull together this night. Joe, Andrew, J, and Colleen all spoiled us with all that they did for us, so thanks all of you.

We look forward to all of you meeting our little guy once he comes in 7 weeks or so.

Here are a few pic's from the night:

Good news to all (Especially the grandparents), we now actually have a place where our baby can sleep. How sweet is this, we wonder if it comes in a king bed size also for us?

Florida trip (Tara would call it our "Babymoon")

Had a relaxing time as we spent a few nights in Miami and then drove down the keys and stayed in Key West for a few more nights. Here is a picture of us at sunset on our balcony near Mallorey Square.

Miami was great, we were able to stay in South Beach right on Ocean Drive to take in all that South Beach had to offer. Our good friend Doug lives out there (Pictured with Tara on the left) and was able to hook us up while we were in South Beach/Miami a few days. We had a great time seeing Doug and reminiscing about old times.

Then the drive down through the keys was so beautiful, and the water was amazingly clear and warm. Here is a picture of us at the Southernmost point in the US with Cuba being 60 miles closer to us than Miami.

Here are a few pictures from our dive and snorkeling trip, unfortunately the picture didn't turn out well with the spotted sea ray we swam upon. If you click on them you will be able to see the pictures better:

Now that we are back home we will be sticking around the So Cal area to ensure we are near our Dr. and Hospital in case the baby decides he wants to come early to enjoy more of the summer with us.
