Henry's First Christmas...

Well, it came and went so quickly. Christmas 2008, Henry's 1st Christmas. He got to spend time with Grammy& Gramps Sibert from Oregon. Who, missed the greatest snowstorm since his daddy was a little boy, because they were with Henry!  On Christmas Eve, Henry got to spend time with Nonnie&Papa, Uncle Dommy&aunti Brenda and cousins Sofia&Olivia. Then after Christmas saw his great-aunties & uncles and some cousins on his mommies side of the family in Whittier. And last but not least, Henry got to visit his great-gramma& Papa Faye. It was a whirlwind of wrapping paper, boxes and gifts, but Henry had a great time, preferring the paper over the gifts. As you can see in the pictures....

Henry's First Cold...

'Tis the season, fo' shizzle. As Henry started sneezing yesterday and his little eyes were watery with read rings around them. As usual though, he smiled throughout the day. He was even an angel for the babysitter. As mommy&daddy went to a Christmas party last night (this was the first babysitter Henry has had-other than friends or family.) He woke up at midnight crying and stuffy, then about every two hours. Poor baby he could hardly breathe. In the morning mommy called the doctor, but basically all you can do is use a humidifier and saline drops and be sure he gets lots of rest. No juice or chicken noodle soup for this little breast-fed man.  We had originally planned a pretty full day, we were going to visit some family in Whittier, but had to cancel due to Henry being sick. We were sad, but that's ok, we will have a make up day. Next exciting thing will be Grammy&Gramps Sibert arriving from Oregon tomorrow. We cannot wait to see them!!

Christmas is Here!!!

Wow!! How quickly time flies!! Henry will be 6 months old on the 24th of December!! Oh my goodness! He is sitting up, scooting on his tum,tum (as we like to call it) "talking" and getting ready to eat solids. He watches mommy and daddy very intently when we are eating, and grabs at our silverware.  On December 4th, Henry met Santa for the first time at the Grove, then on the 5th, met him again (a must nicer one may I add) at another function. Christmas is quickly approaching, and Grammy and Grandpa from Oregon are coming to visit. Henry has been "helping" mommy bake (he coaches her from his excer-saucer) he has even opened a couple of pre christmas gifts Grammy&Grandpa Sibert sent. Out of everything though, Henry especially LOVES  the lights!! He is absolutely                                         fascinated with them. Overall, Henry is so excited for the big day!!

Visiting Uncle Alan&Aunti Angela &Cousin Lucy

The weekend before Thanksgiving, Henry, Mommy&Daddy drove up to Mammoth to visit aunti Angela&Uncle Alan and my (almost) cousin Lucy. She is not quite finished baking yet. Aunti Angela is due to have her on December 22nd or possibly before or after...we'll see. We went for a long walk and it was so beautiful, but very cold. We cannot wait to visit again in January when cousin Lucy has arrived!!!

Trip up to see Grammy & Grandpa and the rest of the friends and family up in Oregon

Henry went on a trip of many firsts. First time on a plane, First time to Oregon, First time to a pumpkin patch, First time seeing 2 of his Great Grandma's, and many other family and Friends.

We all had a great time visiting family and friends.

Henry even found time to go in for a photo shoot so everyone could see how big he's gotten.

Then there was the infamous visit to the Roloff farms. Dad would say it took 90 minutes to get in and pay too much for a soda and kettle corn and a few pictures, while Mom's story would be more around we got to see the Roloff family from the show Little people Big world. We were able to see Tara's good friend Heather and her family while we were there too.

Uncle Samuel's Race

Today I went to my first drifting race. Mommy&Daddy and I drove out to Irwindale to see uncle Samuel in a competition. My buddy Ryan and his daddy Chris met up with us there too. We saw lots of cars and it was so loud and exciting. I didn't even complain that much. Mommy carried me around in the Ergo carrier so I got to see people and feel safe too. I can't wait to go to my next race.

Sailing with Uncle J Scott

On the weekend of September 26th, I took my first sailing trip to Catalina Island with Mommy, Daddy, uncle J (Scott), and aunt Colleen. I had so much fun!  Wearing the life jacket was a little restricting for me, so I just fell asleep during the sail over and the sail home. Mom&Dad I slept really good both nights, from the boat rocking so nicely.
The weather was beautiful and the sail was pretty exciting. We were so close to the water, it was amazing! I cannot wait to go sailing again soon, maybe I can help next time!

Henry Wears His New Halloween Jammies!!

Nonnie bought Henry some new Halloween Jammies, they say:
"My First Halloween Don't Scare Me" So cute!! The hat was too small but we got it on just long enough for the picture.....

Henry's Socks

I had to take a picture of his cute feet in these cute socks. Auntie Sheila&Uncle John gave them to him when he was born, they are 6-12 months and they fit already!!!! He is growing leaps and bounds!!

Henry visits the Swedes....

Henry, Mommy&Daddy drove to Long Beach to meet up half way between LA&The OC to see mommy&daddy's good friends Samuel&Stina. They are Swedish and said they will teach Henry Swedish when he learns to talk. Uncle Samuel also offered to teach Henry how to drive, as he is really good at it. Uncle Samuel and Aunti Stina also said Henry could marry their first born daughter, as she will be really cute.

My Froggy Towel

I love my froggy towel. Mommy got it as a gift from her friend (that she used to babysit) Meredith Chase.  Mommy & Daddy took some pictures of me in it and wanted to share them with everyone else.

My Uncle Samuel & Aunti Stina

My uncle Samuel is a Drifter. Not a bum, a racecar driver!! He and his wife, Stina, are from Sweden. They gave mommy& daddy the coolest outfit for me to wear, at mommy's baby shower. It says "Sotnos" it means "cutie" in Swedish. They also gave me cool shoes to go with the outfit. Mommy says I look like a pirate (because of the shoes) but daddy says I look like I escaped from jail. I don't know, you be the judge. Mommy and Daddy dressed me in the cool outfit they gave me when we all met up one day for lunch in Long Beach.

Henry Meets Davis&Grant

Henry and his mommy&daddy took a trip to Carlsbad this weekend and met Davis&Grant. They are mommy&Daddy's good friends Gregg&Katie's boys. We arrived Saturday and left on Sunday. Henry did some tummy time with Katie for the first time, and really loved it. He sang "Itsy Bitsy Spider" with her.   Henry also went swimming in their pool and to church on Sunday. It was an action packed weekend with lots of boy time. Davis took good care of Henry when mommy or daddy needed his help. He would say to Henry "it's OK little buddy, I'm here" so Henry would not cry when he could not see his mommy or daddy.  Despite the fact that Henry had a hard time sleeping Saturday night he had a really great time with the Foster family.

Henry Meets Great Grandma (Nana)& Grandpa(Papa) Fay

On Monday Henry, mommy, Nonnie and aunti Angela drove to La Verne to visit Great Grandma & Grandpa Fay. He liked being held by both of them and thought papa was funny, smiling at him when he held him. It was a good day and Henry was happy to finally meet them.

Henry Meets Luke

Henry and I ventured out to Pasadena to meet one of his newest friends, Luke Isaac Vinnal. Luke was born on July 26th, so he is just over a month younger than Henry. Their mommy's went to grad school together and remained friends, funny enough, they both had babies at the same time. Henry and mommy look forward to more play dates and visits with Luke.

Camping!

Well, we did it! We managed to join our young married's small group in trekking out past Santa Barabara, to Los Prietos campgrounds and introduce Henry to the wonderful world of camping. I feel that due to the fact we went with our small group from church, they sort of braved the trip with us.
Our car was packed to the ceiling, leaving only enough room for the three of us to sit as we left our driveway in Santa Monica.  We arrived at 5pm Friday night and set up camp. Despite the fact that there were lots of buggies, no running water except a small communal water spicket, and it was so hot (it literally did not cool down until about 4am Saturday morning) we had a great time. In fact it was so hot Friday night, Henry slept in only his diaper, even though mommy had packed lots of warm jammies in preparation for the bitter cold that camping nights tend to bring (hence part of the reason so much stuff!)

We spent Saturday at the River edge under a tree and Henry and mommy took a little dip in the water, then Daddy and Mommy gave Henry a bath in a large tupperware container to clean him and cool him off. It did col down that evening and Henry actually wore PJ's to bed this time. Henry slept from about 10:30pm-5:30am! He did great!

On Sunday, Henry was pretty mellow and just enjoyed the outdoors with mommy and the group as everyone played a silly game. Henry loved being held by Beth while mommy and daddy packed up to go home. He slept the whole ride home too.

Mommy and daddy will definitely take him camping again!

2 month checkup and immunizations...yukky!

Baby Henry weighs in at 11lbs. 15 oz. Nearly 12 pounds! The doctor says he is above average and growing nicely. He measured in at 23 inches long! He grew over 2 inches since his last appointment. Henry continues to both surprise and amaze us with his sweet nature and his mellow ways. Although he had his shots this afternoon (You can see his Spiderman bandaid in the photo), he has been really good, only having a few little fuss episodes throughout. Mommy and Daddy are taking turns holding him to ensure he feels comfortable and cared for. He got his first spiderman band-aid today (see photo) so we felt it should be included in his blog. Henry will go on his first camping trip this weekend, as Mommy&Daddy's small group from church are headed towards Santa Barbara for Labor Day Weekend.

Mammoth: Summer 2008

Well, baby Henry had his very first road trip and visit to Mammoth. On this trip Henry had many "firsts." It was his first time in a swimming pool with daddy, he hiked to Panorama Dome in Mammoth. Henry also got to see the beautiful scenery and hike in Yosemite on a day trip with mommy and daddy. Henry was such a good sport about the whole trip, despite the altitude he had a good temperament throughout and kept his sweet attitude as well.
