"Bartolone" Baby Shower

Sunday May 4th, my mom& sisters threw us a beautiful baby shower, complete with beautiful shower favors made by my sister- in- law Sheila. The only thing missing was my other sister-in-law Brenda& my nieces Sofia& Olivia, who are currently in New Orleans until June.

It was a lovely day, and so much fun. My mom and sisters did a great job at including everyone, and making sure people went home with something!! So many people came to celebrate baby Sibert's (soon to come) arrival to our world. My mom requested that people bring books for Baby's library, and now, he has over 50!! We are so excited about this, we have already begun reading them to him.

There were so many wonderful gifts, I do not know where to begin, from photo sessions a photographer friend of ours gave us, to a onesie that says "Sweetie" in Swedish. Everything was so sweet and thoughtful, and I greatly appreciated all who came.

I felt quite Blessed to have so many people as excited as I am about the birth of our first baby.

My baby weighs what???

Daddy Sibert & I went to our 3rd trimester screening on Friday. As you can see by the latest picture from our 30 week Dr. visit, baby Sibert really looks like a baby!! It was so exciting making out his little face. Seeing he has chub on his cheeks already! Our neighbor Catherine explained to us that the babies always look like the daddy's at first because they need to instantly fall in love with them....well, in looking at these pics, you will see that, yes indeed, he will resemble his papa:)

After seeing his cute face, the doctor announces the baby weighs 4&1/2 lbs. already. As my OB had explained in the weeks prior, he is two weeks ahead of growth schedule. His femur is of course very long...surprise! surprise!? I began doing the math immediately...I have 10 weeks left, he will gain 1/2lb a week for the duration of the pregnancy....meaning I could possibly give birth to a 9&1/2 lb. child....YIKES!!! In chatting with my friend Jen, who delivered an 8&1/2 pounder with NO EPIDURAL(GO JEN!), she has complete faith I will be fine...sorry Jen, I am not convinced:) Well, I just had to share this thought with all of you and let you know how things are going. My mother and sisters and sister in-law threw me a shower on Sunday....more info on that later.....

Week 28 Doctor Appointment...

So today, I ventured into my doctor's appointment thinking, only 6 more of these before the baby is born....wow! Crazy!! Don't get me wrong, they are always exciting and such a bonding time for daddy Sibert and I, but I am ready to not have to go to the OB for awhile.
The doctor did some measurements and took some very blurry pictures, b/c "Buddy" is too big to get a good look at this point. He weighs 3.5 lbs. already and the doctor stated his femur is "really long" we are about 2 weeks ahead of growth schedule. Makes me shudder thinking he has 12 more weeks to continue to thrive and grow inside of me (and apparantly the growing part has really just begun), then, I have to push him out...of a really smalll hole! Can we say OUCH!! I am excited to meet him, hold him, gaze into his innocent eyes. I am being vulnerable here, the thought of giving birth though makes me a little nervous, especially if he takes after his papa and is born a small giant!

Portland Baby Shower

We had a GREAT time in Portland. The open house shower turned out great as a lot of family and friends were able to join us. Thanks to all for coming by to hang out with us, especially those of you that brought your kids so you can slowly break us in for what we have in store in July. Many thanks to Aunt Sue and Mom for hosting the party and pulling together everything. We were very blessed with everyones attendance and the gifts that they gave us for the little guy.

We just moved into the 3rd trimester, so now the fun begins.

114 days and counting until our quiet home is no longer

Hello Everyone, We wanted to give you a quick update from the Sibert's. Tara is doing really well, and the baby has been really active. We had a great weekend up in Mammoth with a group of 15 or so of our close friends. Tara was able to do some cross country skiing and hiking with friends, while Bill was able to sneak away for a couple of good half day's. This weekend we enjoyed a nice local weekend and did some spring cleaning. We did go see the Will Ferrell movie, Semi Pro, and we have to give Dominic Jr props as we stuck around for the credits and saw your name.
Here are a couple of pic's that we wanted to show from this weekend while we had our good friend Joe with us acting as photographer. Guess which one in the pictures is pregnant, be kind the sexy male in these photo's, he is sensitive.

Bye for now,
B&T, and Baby too!

Mammoth Spring Skiing

We had a great weekend with a good group of friends up in Mammoth for a weekend. The weather was great for us, we had some great days skiing/boarding and for Tara some Cross Country Skiing! From the peak you could look into Yosemite and see the top of Half Dome which is always cool. Too many stories to even start, but we did have some great meals in (The pork flambe by Hyung was memorable especially with his XXXXXL portions for us, Nertz of course, and PHENOMENAL Mafia games up there on Saturday night.
